Our Policies

Volunteers

• The company is run by at least two volunteer Company Directors who do not get paid for their work or time.

• Adult helpers support us to run events, and do not get paid either.

• We might assign helpers their own Friends company debit card to simplify their (and our) processes on financial expenditure.

• Student helpers might be financially rewarded, incentivised or paid directly for their contribution in the form of prices, benefit in kind or in cash within legal norms and limits.

Reimbursement​

• Admin, event and helper expenses are primarily paid for directly via our bank account or card payments.

• Where that's not possible, Friends will reimburse costs usually within 7 days, larger expenses may require a receipt.

Accepting Payments

• Making money is a primary goal for us.

• We optimise for simplicity and transparency.

• We are promoting cashless payments.

• We keep financial inclusion in mind.

Spending Money

• Our primary goal is to make profit on behalf of all parents and the wider community, to pay for things that benefit our children at Cherry Hinton C of E Primary School and the wider Cherry Hinton community.

• We are not a charity, and we never make cash donations.

• Most of our payments are invested into running events for students or wider community, and subsidising students (e.g. paying for bus tickets for excursion), paying for materials (e.g. buying library books) or helping around the school (e.g. fixing stuff or getting new equipment).

• Our overhead costs to run Friends includes third party software and financial services.

• We rely mostly on volunteer helpers but also invest some money back into planning and running events.
